I have practised as a solicitor for 29 years. I am accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Family Law and as a Family Law Mediator. I have practiced exclusively in the area of Family Law for 16 years.
In the nineties, I took party in the ground breaking Duty Mediator Scheme at Falkirk Sheriff Court. I am passionate about Mediation. As an experienced solicitor, I am well aware of the pros and cons of litigation in family law disputes and the benefits of Mediation.
I have undertaken solicitor and court referred Mediations.
I am also trained in Collaborative Practice. I am always keen to help clients look at the various forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution available in Family Law disputes to help clients find the best outcome for their individual needs.
I have also formerly been a Tutor in Family Law for the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow.
I am a member of the Family Law Association, CALM and Consensus.
As a young solicitor, I was appointed by the court to prepare court reports for the benefit of the court in child related cases.
I am the Pod Leader for CALM Mediators in Glasgow and surrounding areas.
Other solicitors and mediators have described me as having an easy manner that puts clients at ease. I am aware that Mediation can sometimes seems daunting. I am also aware of the huge benefits that it can provide to separating couples, both for themselves and their children.
