Having practised as a Family Law Solicitor since 1993, I was accedited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Family Law Mediator in 2018. I am trained in Collaborative Practice and I am a member of Consensus Collaboration Scotland.  I have been based in Paisley since 2002.  In addition, I prepare Child Welfare Reports for Paisley Sheriff Court.

I find that most separated couples requiring to resolve issues with their former spouse or partner, whether that be financial and/or agreeing arrangements for the care of the children, want to be able to have their voice heard and understood by their former spouse or partner.  The process of mediation helps a separated couple to achieve this.  Mediation places the separated couple in the centre of the process in which they explore possible solutions and make decisions together which suit them both and their family, with the assistance and guidance of the Mediator.  Mediation allows the couple to have face-to-face discussions in a confidential, neutral setting.  The discussions are informal but supported by the formality of the process followed by the Mediator.  I believe this provides an environment conducive to the separated couple reaching agreement on their family's future.

I engage in both private client and civil legal aid work.  Please feel free to contact me.
