I practise exclusively in the field of family law. I qualified as a lawyer in 2003. I am accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in family law and as a family mediator. I am trained in inter-disciplinary collaborative practice. I am dual qualified in Scottish and English law. I am involved in a wide variety of family law cases including separation, divorce, resolution of financial issues and issues to do with children, pre and post nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements.
I am a committee member of the Glasgow Collaborative POD Group. I am also a committee member of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow. I am a tutor in family law for the Diploma in Legal Practice at Strathclyde University. I am a member of the Family Law Association, CALM and Consensus.
Wherever possible, I help my clients to find solutions to their family law problems which involve as co-operative an approach as possible and minimises disruption for any children involved. Mediation is hard work for everyone involved but its aim is to ensure that those involved can find a workable solution to their problems and in as respectful and amicable a way as possible. Often, the problems seem insurmountable at the outset. My job is to help those involved see that there is a way forward that can work for everyone involved.
