Mediation Costs
An hourly rate is charged for intake sessions and for joint mediation sessions. This is shared between the parties in whatever proportion they agree, but usually equally. The rate may vary depending on the mediator. Details of the hourly rate charged by a mediator should be confirmed with that mediator before proceeding.
If one or other party qualifies for Legal Aid, they should consult their Solicitor who should be able to arrange for the cost of mediation to be covered by Legal Aid subject to Legal Aid rules that apply.
